Tell Pesticide Peddlers: We support Michelle Obama's organic garden

Dear Friend,

The Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) has a bone to pick with Michelle Obama. MACA represents chemical companies that produce pesticides, and they are angry that - wait for it - Michelle Obama isn't using chemicals in her organic garden at the White House.

I am not making this up.

In an email they forwarded to their supporters, a MACA spokesman wrote, "While a garden is a great idea, the thought of it being organic made [us] shudder." MACA went on to publish a letter it had sent to the First Lady asking her to consider using chemicals -- or what they call "crop protection products" -- in her garden.

I just signed a petition telling MACA's board members to stop using Michelle Obama's garden to spread propaganda about produce needing to be sprayed with chemicals. I hope you will, too.

Please have a look and take action. [CLICK HERE]

Thanks!

Let's elect Obama!

I just came back from an Obama organizing meeting for our 3-township area. There were 7 people signed up to come, but more than 20 showed up!

There are a lot of events coming up. Everyone should go to the Obama site and sign up. On the site you will find many ways to help win this election. There is something for everyone.

We have 10 weeks to turn this country around. Now is the time to get involved.

We have disease-care not healthcare

The system we call healthcare is really disease-care. It manages disease, ususally in a very expensive way, instead of treating the whole person and maintaining his or her health. There are many health practitioners who manage health successfully, but their services are seldom covered by "healthcare" plans.

When Barack Obama campaigned in Chester County the weekend before the primary, one of our own, a West Whiteland precinct 1 Democrat, talked with the campaign and explained to them the difference between healthcare and disease-care.

Barack is now using the phrase "we don't have healthcare, we have disease-care" in his campaign speeches.

This is proof that we can have an impact on politics. There is hope for change.

Roggio on Iraq

The war in Iraq was a mistake. Over the past 6 years, almost 4,000 brave troops have been killed, and close to 20,000 more injured. We have spent hundreds of billions of dollars, while ignoring the very real domestic needs of our country. President Bush continues to ask for more money, and more troops, but has no new ideas to win the peace. I will fight to end this war, and bring our troops home responsibly, and with honor. - Bob Roggio
